Trauma-informed practice for schools

Hi, I’m Chrissy Lea, an independent trauma-informed practitioner, trainer and consultant.

I am a qualified teacher with frontline child-protection social care experience. As a specialist in safeguarding, mental health and relational behaviour approaches, I am deeply passionate about education and improving outcomes for children. I am an experienced mental health lead, behaviour lead, designated safeguarding lead, children looked after teacher, nurture group and social emotional interventions teacher.

Alongside my consultancy work, I support and develop safeguarding practice in schools through my role as a Child Protection School Liaison Officer for Hertfordshire County Council.

The challenges we face as educators and care-givers cannot be underestimated, and I am committed to equipping staff with the skills they need to do their job with confidence. Having worked in education for many years, I have first-hand experience of the complex and fast-paced world of teaching. I believe passionately in the power of kindness and unconditional positive regard, having seen the positive impact this has on children’s emotional and academic outcomes.
